Educating Children from Preschool through 12th Grade

Deb Maietta DeBenedictis has been operating math and reading centers in Weston, Wayland, (and now Sudbury) and the Metrowest area for twenty years, and has provided private tutoring since her time tutoring for the math and computer departments at her Alma Mater, Boston College.   Her background includes several degrees in English, experience working in supervision and management in Engineering and Manufacturing, at Digital Equipment Corporation, (nomination for Who's Who of Young Women in Management and Who's Who of American Entrepreneurs), a variety of certifications in Japanese Math, (specifically Kumon techniques), and American teaching methodologies, and of course the invaluable experience of raising her five biological children who attended a mix of Weston public and various private schools.  Deborah has worked with children from all of the local area public schools, and most of the private schools as well, not to mention assisting students in their applications to schools from Meadowbrook Kindergarten to Winsor, Roxbury Latin, Boston Latin, MIT, Davidson, Harvard, Yale, etc.  She enjoys working with children of all ages, and has a passion for sharing the joy of intellectual pursuits -- particularly writing, reading analysis, and mastery of algebraic concepts.

All of our teachers have previously worked, or currently work in the private or public school sector.  Our teaching staff at The Weston & Wayland Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic Success Centers ...a.k.a. RWA Success, encompasses a wide range of expertise, from early childhood education to advanced degrees in physics from MIT, specialties in learning disabilities, and advanced degrees in English.  Our goal is to match both learning content AND learning style with your youngster when he or she attends our center.  We are continually expanding our staff, with as many as twelve regular teachers, in addition to our high school and college helpers.

Currently our staff is evaluating and changing math curriculum in the Algebra II area, working with experts in fine motor skills development, and continuing work in the very successful writing program that we initiated several years ago

Our staff continues to update their own knowledge base by attending lectures and studying new methodologies for teaching curriculum.  We do, however, continue to reinforce the importance of learning basics first.

In addition to our regular staff, we hire college students and responsible, mature junior and senior honors students from area high schools to assist as correctors during center hours.  We are pleased to have hired some of the top student leaders in our area, including students with perfect SAT scores, the head of area math teams, and captains of sports teams.

On a more personal note, Deborah lives with her husband, Antonio (Tony) DeBenedictis, of Tony's Market, of whom she says "He is my morning light, and my evening star."  She is proud to be involved in the lives of all the children they claim, including Maiettas, Trappeys, DeBenedictises, and Trevinos, who include members of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Med Students, Doctors, a Nurse Anesthetist, an Accountant, Educators, and a future lawyer/OD consultant, who have attended Davidson College, Columbia, Emory, Ohio State, and Harvard Universities, as well as continuing education at an even greater variety of academic institutions.  Deborah DeBenedictis is also pleased to claim a long list of published authors and academicians in her extended family, McIntyres, Sullivans and Leahys, and is particularly proud of her brother, Dr. Peter Schlegel, of New York, for both his academic and medical achievements, and his continued support.  She is also grateful for the blessing of her newly found DeBenedictis siblings.
