Writing, Reading & Math Comparisons ...especially for the Class of 2017 Student
but also for any student looking at the evolution of testing choices...

MATH SAT/ACT/NEW SAT

Students in the class of 2017 have the advantage of unique opportunities for their college prep standardized test.  However, as with all great opportunities, there are significant and added responsibilities if one is to make an optimal choice in test taking for this season.  Your answers to each of these questions would be indicators of which test to take, and when.  We are literally coaching sophomores now -- some to take the test for June, 2015 testing to ensure that they will be ready for the fall 2015 tests, others to prep for the PSAT, new format.  Take the time to get an idea of what is ahead, and set up a one hour consultation to help develop a plan.

Does your child do best with adequate time to think through problem sets or reading comprehension,
and feels rushed with time constraints?

Is your student a superior math student, and will have completed Pre-Calc with some statistics work,
OR better yet, AB Calc and statistics by March 2016?

Does he or she work better with or without a calculator?

Will your student have completed Algebra II with Trigonometry, and enjoys science?

Has your student not yet completed Algebra II, but enjoys reading?

Will your child have completed AP World, AP US History or AP English?

Is your child's extra curricular schedule particularly heavy at one season or another during the year?

Is your child a superior test-taker, and likely to need a score above 2100 (old SAT format) to apply
to his or her schools of choice?

Is English a second language for your child?

Do you consider your child's vocabulary as a strong suit?

Is your student likely to be a National Merit Commended test-taker?
